FINAL Comix Creation Classes for Kids in 2020!!!

Featured

The Million Year Picnic comic shop is still closed to browsing, but that doesn’t mean we’re not working! We’re doing curbside pick-ups, free local deliveries for orders over $15, and shipping all over the country! AND, our friend Jason Wiser is offering THE FINAL SET of COMIX CREATION CLASSES FOR KIDS IN 2020! After these two classes, there will be NO MORE CLASSES in 2020!

The next Level 1 course begins next Monday, 10 August 2020, from 4-5pm daily. Classes will be recorded if you miss a day! (The final Level 2 class will be the following week: August 17-21, 2020, time TBD.)

These classes run 5 days a week, 1 hour a day through a Zoom link provided by the teacher for kids age 8 and older. Students can participate through an Internet-connected laptop or tablet, and materials are typically paper, pencil, and pen. All work is optional, but kindness is mandatory!

To register, please send the $50 fee per course (per household, so 1 kid or 5 kids, it’s the same price) to the Million Year Picnic comic book store via PayPal to blanton7772000@yahoo.com (or use the PayPal button below).

IN THE PAYPAL “NOTE” FIELD, PLEASE PROVIDE:
(1). The Course Name & Date (e.g., “Comix 1” or “Comix 2” or “Both” — both = $100)
(2). Your child’s name and age
(3). An email address (to send you the daily Zoom link).

If PayPal doesn’t show you a NOTE field, please email this information to millionyearpicnic@yahoo.com!

If you have problems with PayPal or need to use a different payment method, please contact us at millionyearpicnic@yahoo.com or call 617-492-6763. Either Tony or Kelly is in the shop every day between 2pm and 6pm (sometimes earlier, sometimes later).

Note that this is a fundraiser for the shop as Jason let’s us keep the bulk of the fees! You’re helping a Black-owned business stay afloat!

If you do not see an email from us by 3:30pm of the first day of class, it might be in your spam folder. Please check, and please email Jason@YayaPlay.com with questions! Jason’s website is http://www.yayaplay.com/classes.html

Level 2 Comix Creation Classes for Kids! May 2020

Hello! It’s the 2020 pandemic and our physical location is CLOSED. But we are still selling books via FREE delivery to local locations and USPS shipping. In the meantime, we’re doing some fundraising through classes for kids on how to make comics!

Jason Wiser will AGAIN be running his Intro to Comix Creation ONLINE class LEVEL 2 for kids next week, Monday, 18 May 2020 through Friday, 22 May 2020 from 3-4pm. Jason’s website for the class is here: http://www.yayaplay.com/classes.html

  • Intro to Comix Creation LEVEL 2
  • For ages 8+
  • $50 per household – NOT per child! If you have one child or seven, it’s still $50!
  • Monday, 5/18 through Friday, 5/22 at 3pm
  • All your child needs is a pencil and paper!
  • Please provide your email address (for the URL to connect you and your child to the class; no special software is needed) as well as the first name(s) and the age(s) of your child (or children) in the PayPal “note” section!
  • You’ll receive the link by 2:30pm on Monday, before class starts

Payment can be made via PayPal to blanton7772000@yahoo.com (but please DO NOT email that address; please DO put your email address and the names/ages of your child/children in the “Add a note” section) or on the phone with a credit card (our number is 617-492-6763). Since we’re not in the shop on a regular basis during the current stay-at-home order, if you need to do a credit card transaction, email us at millionyearpicnic@yahoo.com or leave us a voice message with your phone number and a good time to call so that Tony Davis, owner of the MYP, can call you back. (I promise, we’re working on an e-commerce solution.) PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL US YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION.
